Abstract: Abstract：Using γ-glycidoxyglycidoxytrimethoxysilane as raw material， ethanol and methanol as mixed solvents， the epoxy-based POSS （EP-POSS） was synthesized by hydrolytic polycondensation under acidic conditions， which was used to further modify the epoxy resin curing system. And the infrared spectroscopy（FT-IR）， nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectrum （1H NMR） and silicon spectrum （29Si NMR） were used to characterize the structure of EP-POSS. The thermogravimetry （TGA） and scanning electron microscope （SEM） were used to test and observe the heat resistance and fracture morphology of the modified epoxy coatings. The effects of the addition amount of accelerator and EP-POSS on the mechanical properties of the epoxy resin were discussed. The results showed that the introduction of EP-POSS reduced the curing temperature， improved thermal stability， and increased the toughness of epoxy coatings. When the addition amount of accelerator and EP-POSS was 05％ and 3％ respectively， the overall performance of the epoxy coating had been improved significantly.
