Abstract: The characteristics and development trend of odor testing technology in various decorative materials detection standards are summarized， and the research results of representative odor test are introduced in this paper. According to the different testing process， the odor test standard method can be divided into static test method， dynamic test method and instrument analysis method. Based on the review of the existing standards and test research， this paper compares the technical characteristics and application scope of various standard methods， wherein some contradictions in the existing test standards are expounded. It is pointed out that the correlation between the different odor monomer distribution and its actual smell will be the focus of future research as for the analysis of the composition of the odor substances by instrumental analysis method.
