Abstract: TP53 is a tumor suppressor gene for gene network, tumor suppressor p53 protein (cellular tumor antigen p53), is “the guardian of the genome,” preserves genome stability under cellular stress, and is involved in various processes of development, differentiation, aging and disease. Dysfunction of TP53 with wildtype coding sequence can result deregulated gene expression, stability and activity of p53. Mutation and dysfunction of TP53 gene is important in the pathogensis of many human cancers. Besides, the status of TP53 is an independent prognostic factor in most blood cancer and lymphoma types. We review the significance of TP53 dysfunction and discuss the role of TP53 associated with lymphomagenesis and blood cancer.
