Abstract:

Objective To investigate the eventbased prospective memory (EBPM) and timebased prospective memory (TBPM) disorders associated with chemotherapyinduced cognitive impairment in patients with breast cancer. Methods Twentyseven cases with breast cancer who underwent adjuvantchemotherapy after operation,and 30 healthy women with matched age and education level were administered with a neuropsychological battery of tests including EBPM and TBPM tasks. Results The EBPM score of breast cancer patients and healthy controls were 1.11±1.09 and 2.23±0.77, with significant differences(P<0.001).The TBPM score of breast cancer patients and healthy controls were 4.33±1.24 and 483±1.09(P>0.05). Conclusion Breast cancer patients who undergo adjuvant chemotherapy show deficits in EBPM, but not in TBPM.
