Abstract: Surgical resection is the major and most effective therapeutic approach for colorectal cancer with liver metastasis, with a fairly high recurrence rate after operation. It needs to decrease the risk of recurrence and prolong the survival for these patients undergoing surgical removal of liver metastases. Recent years,pre-,post- and peri-operative chemotherapy have been introduced into some studies to solve the problem. Meanwhile, with the development of new agents and new local treatment means, some promising results have been obtained in some studies. Focusing on the challenge, our paper reviews the latest progress of treatment available in clinical practice.
