Abstract: Although chemotherapy is the most common treatment of advanced gastric cancer, the efficacy is limited. Recently, remarkable progress in biology of gastric cancer has led to the identification of ‘driver gene’ and the development of new agents that target these genes and relevant pathways. To date, many targeting agents have been evaluated in international phase Ⅲ studies. We reviewed a representative set of recent studies and provided special consideration related to the available data from these studies.
