Abstract: Metaplastic breast carcinoma（MBC） is a rare and heterogeneous subtype of breast carcinoma with generally poor prognosis. MBC usually present with larger tumor， less nodal involvement， higher histological grade， and lack hormone and HER2 receptor expression. This review will describe the characteristics of clinical，histopathological，immunohistochemical，genetic， diagnostic， therapeutic and prognostic in this generally poor prognosis malignancy.
