Abstract: Nowadays, an increasing number of people are diagnosed with breast cancer but fewer patients died of that, due to the advanced detection tools and improvement of multidisciplinary treatment. Sentinel lymph node biopsy, which take the place of axillary lymph node dissection(ALND), has become the standard of care to evaluate the regional lymph node status. In recent years, several famous researches indicate that ALND is not essential in early breast cancer patients with positive sentinel lymph nodes. However, how to choose the best axillary management is still a controversial issue. This article will summarize which management is suitable for different patients according to latest updated studies.
